Dr. Edward Shapiro, MD

Ed Shapiro ist klinischer Professor am Yale Child Study Center und war von 1991 bis 2011 medizinischer Direktor/CEO des Austen Riggs Center. Er hat mehr als fünfzig Artikel über menschliche Entwicklung, Organisations- und Familienfunktionen und Persönlichkeitsstörungen veröffentlicht und Vorträge im In- und Ausland gehalten. Zusammen mit dem ehemaligen Dekan von Westminster, A. Wesley Carr, Ph.D., veröffentlichte er Lost in Familiar Places: Creating New Connections between the Individual and Society (Yale, 1991) und war Herausgeber von The Inner World in the Outer World (Yale, 1997). Er ist Mitglied des Vorstands des A.K. Rice Institute und der International Dialogue Initiative sowie des Beirats von Partners Confronting Collective Atrocities. Er ist einer der Geschäftsführer der Boswell Group in New York.
Dr. Shapiro wurde mit dem Felix and Helene Deutsch Scientific Award der Boston Psychoanalytic Society, dem Forschungspreis der Society for Family Therapy and Research und dem Isenberg Teaching Award des McLean Hospital ausgezeichnet. Im Jahr 2007 wurde er von der Massachusetts Psychiatric Association zum „Outstanding Psychiatrist for Advancement of the Profession“ ernannt und ist seit 2011 auf der Liste der „Top Doctors“ des US News & World Report aufgeführt.
Dr. Shapiro absolvierte das Yale College, erhielt einen M.A. in Anthropologie von der Stanford University, einen M.D. von der Harvard Medical School und eine Zertifizierung in Psychoanalyse von der American Psychoanalytic Association. Ed Shapiro is Clinical Professor at the Yale Child Study Center and was medical director/CEO of the Austen Riggs Center from 1991-2011. He has published over fifty articles on human development, organizational and family functioning, and personality disorders, presenting papers in the country and abroad. With the former Dean of Westminster, A. Wesley Carr, Ph.D., he published Lost in Familiar Places: Creating New Connections between the Individual and Society (Yale, 1991), and was the editor of The Inner World in the Outer World (Yale, 1997).He is on the boards of the A.K Rice Institute and the International Dialogue Initiative, and on the advisory board of Partners Confronting Collective Atrocities.
